The CNG is the French national research center which enables a response to scientific questions necessitating high throughput sequencing and genotyping thanks to the development and deployment of innovative integrated technologies. The organization of the CNG enables optimization of genetic and genomic research on human diseases by creating indispensable links between cohort constitution (DNA samples), identification of the responsible genes, and study of the transcriptome and epigenome.

THE CNG LABORATORIES
Team leader: Jean-François Deleuze
The High-Throughput Laboratory team is involved in the integration of new methods of sequencing and genotyping for the CNG research operations.
CNG is developing high-throughput sequencing operations with the setup of an Illumina automated platform suitable for several strategies for the study of multifactorial diseases and rare diseases. The High-Throughput Laboratory recently acquired an X Five system for whole-genome studies. A HiSeq 4000 and several HiSeq 2500/2000 are used for other applications (exome, transcriptome, epigenome, etc.). The high production capacity positions the CNG among the leading European platforms.
Several years ago, a robust platform for production high-throughput genotyping based on Illumina and Affymetrix technologies was set up for analysis of the genome, transcriptome and methylome.
The High-Throughput Laboratory consists of 2 teams: one for genotyping, the other for sequencing.

CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
