The CNG is the French national research center which enables a response to scientific questions necessitating high throughput sequencing and genotyping thanks to the development and deployment of innovative integrated technologies. The organization of the CNG enables optimization of genetic and genomic research on human diseases by creating indispensable links between cohort constitution (DNA samples), identification of the responsible genes, and study of the transcriptome and epigenome.
List of the main projects of the Institut de Génomique
The Laboratory of Molecular Biology Methods for Genomics (LMBMG) is the interface between the Sequencing Laboratory (LS), the Bio-Informatics R&D team and the Laboratory for the Genomic Analysis of Eukaryotes- (LAGE).
The Sequencing Laboratory assumes projects from receipt of the samples through validation of the raw sequences. Sequencing is ensured by second-generation very high-throughput sequencers.
UMR 8030 « Genomics Metabolics » is the basic research structure of the Genoscope - National sequencing center. Through the various projects, in-house or conducted in national or international cooperative form, we explore the biodiversity of organisms by analysis of their genomes, thus significantly contributing to the overall investigation of the tree of life
The Scientific Information Technology Laboratory consists of 3 teams who intervene throughout the Institute of Genomics. The Laboratory's missions are focused on system and network architecture, the development and operation of production management systems and the management of massive sequencing data.
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
